Do your Circumstances define you?

Mansion...........or................cottage? Whatever your circumstances are, be blessed and content!

Do you live in a big house? Do you live in a trailer? Do you have a lot of money or a little bit of money?

Do your circumstances define who you are or does your outlook on your circumstances define you?
This is what came to me today as I was looking around at where I live and what I have. Some people
may think that I live meagerly or don't have nice things. We live in a small home that is about 1400 sq ft. with three bedrooms in which my two girls share one of those rooms. It is not a new home but a fixer-upper which still has lots of fixing to do. We drive used cars, nice cars but used.  We buy clothes from the thrift stores and my dishes are from a yard sale. I own the same shirts that I got handed down to me over 5 years ago and if I am being honest probably longer than that. We wear our shoes until we absolutely need a new pair and the same with our jeans. Now I could look at my life and compare to others around me who live in new homes, and drive new cars and have expensive jewelry and name brand clothes and shoes. But I choose not to compare myself to others. Because what I have the Lord has blessed me with. My home may be small but it is clean and tidy and very warm. My clothes may be old but are clean and well cared for so they last. And those dishes that I bought for a couple bucks at a yard sale 6 years ago well they still look nice, hold my food and I don't worry if they get broken. So find joy in the things you do have life is too short to be in debt over expensive things just to keep up with the Jones'. Look to make your home a peaceful and happy place that makes you and your family want to stay home more which in return means you don't go out and spend money. Be grateful for the food you do have even if its not all organic and the latest diet craze. I hope this post finds you well and encourages you to look at the glass half full instead of half empty. Be humble and kind and the Lord will bless you. Trust in him always and he will give you all that you need whether it is a little or a lot, the Lord knows exactly what we need.

Job 36:11 If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment.

Hebrews 13:5

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Luke 12:15
15 And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

Hello everyone!

Today I just wanted to give a short little explanation about my curriculum books that I have created for my children. First of all, I created them specifically for my daughter that learns differently from the norm. She is a right-brained thinker and a very artistic and critical thinker. My daughter did not like the standard read and answer questions as most curriculum books are laid out this way. So I had to get creative. I realized she learned best when she was able to choose a subject that interested her, and the information stuck in her head! I was so thrilled! So I scoured the internet trying to find a curriculum that would do just what she needed. I did not find anything that I liked so I decided to create my own. And so A Christian Delight Directed Curriculum was born!!! Both of my girls use …

Stand Still And Let God Move!

Do you ever feel like you pray and pray and nothing happens? Maybe you you try to take situations into your own hands and it just causes more stress to your life?

Well that's how I feel. Lately I have been praying for multiple things and in my impatient heart nothing is happening. But the Lord reminded me that he is an on time God. He has a perfect plan for my life if I will just sit back and stand still and let him move. So I am, and it's funny how things begin to happen or fall into place when you least expect it. I am so thankful that the Lord speaks to my heart. Just the other day my husband had some good news and then something irritating happened and the Lord showed me how the devil likes to seek and destroy. You see in our happy moment something came up that was just simply irritating and the devil tried to still our joy. I am thankful that the Lord gave me the insight to see this and rebuke the devil!
With Thanksgiving upon us I am reminded of all the blessings the L…

The Contented Homemaker

Hello Everyone,

Lets chat for a bit. For as long as I can remember I have longed to be a homemaker. Sure there are a lot of girls who wish to grow up and have a huge career and make lots of money etc. But for me I have always wanted to be a wife and mother. Sound boring? Well I will tell you that the life of a wife and mother is far from boring and it is the highest calling that God has for a women. I have always longed to be like Caroline Ingalls and to live in a tiny house somewhere on the prairie. She was content where ever she was as long as she had God and her family. I want to raise my children as she did firm but loving. I want to honor and respect my husband for all that he is and does and to Glorify God in all that I do. Am I perfect? NO, I fall short in so many ways. The wonderful thing is that God molds me and makes me into what he wants me to be daily. We live in a day and age where so many women are not content and satisfied with life. Maybe its because as homemakers and…
