How To Budget (Envelope System)

Good Morning Everyone!

It is a wonderful morning and I am up and at em!!!! I already did my workout for the day and I am feeling good. Today we are going to focus on how to start a budget that you can stick to. I know for most people this is very hard but I promise if you can get a budget and stick to it you will conquer your finances. Budgeting is the number one way that has allowed me to stay at home with my kids and live on one income. I am strict and budget every dollar my husband brings in. Two years ago my husband was able to take a lower-paying job with less stress making half of what he was making because we budgeted and were frugal. Now that he has a better paying job which we are so blessed that he has, we understand that we can make it on very little and still have a happy healthy lifestyle all because of budgeting. So let's get to it!

First of all, when starting a budget you need to calculate your monthly expenses. I'm talking mortgage, rent, utilities, clothing, …

The Dave Ramsey Baby Steps!

Hey friends,

Today I thought I would touch on the 7 baby steps to help you get out of debt. I wish I could take credit for this but I can't. All the credit goes to Dave Ramsey. If you haven't heard of him go check him out. He is a financial guru that has helped millions of people become debt-free. First of all, I would say the number one thing to do when getting out of debt is to make sure both you and your spouse are on the same page. If you aren't then these strategies will not work. When both of you are on the same page and striving for the same goal it will all work. Now let's get down to the Baby Steps.

Baby step 1:

First thing in baby step 1 is you need a 1,000.00 emergency fund. You know that rainy day fun for when the car breaks down or the dryer quits working or you need dental work that the insurance won't cover. Get this saved up ASAP. Sell things you don't use any more or work some overtime what ever it takes to get your emergency fund to 1,000.00.

Becoming Debt Free, Marriage and Finances!

Hey everyone,
Well, this is the year for us to work on our debt-free journey. Even though I talk about how to stay home with your kids and live on a budget, sometimes to reach our goals we have to sacrifice a little. For me, that means getting a little part-time job with a regular income to help pay off debt. Now I will still be homeschooling my girls so I am looking for a job that will work with my schedule. Although it's not ideal to go to work I am serious about paying off debt once and for all. We live very frugally and still are having a hard time paying our debt down. This has caused undue stress in my marriage and after praying about it I feel like the Lord is telling me to get a little PT job to help out. Now my plate is already full of homemaking and homeschooling and all the other hats I wear but I really want to be debt-free. So, I am looking for a job. I just had an interview for a job working 2 days a week which I feel is doable. I am waiting to hear back from them. …

New Curriculum Book Available!

Hey Friends,

It has been a while since I have posted but let me assure you it was for a good reason. It has been a long time coming but I have finally finished my last workbook. It is A Christian Delight Directed Curriculum K-2 Book #2. The front cover is different because KDP has changed its layout and I was unable to find the original layout. For those of you that have purchased the first k-2 book the second one is on its way. Right now it is in the final review stage and if all goes well it will be available on Amazon.com!!!! I am so excited and also feel so bad that it took this long, but I am a homeschooling mom as well and we all know how life can get in the way of things. If anyone has ordered and used the other curriculum books I would love to have feedback on them, and how they are working for your family. We use them with our middle school daughter and she loves it. I hope the new year is treating you all well and hope to hear from you soon. Until next time Happy Homeschooli…

A Tailored Education

A Tailored Education
Well it's something ever homeschool parent faces year after year. The search for the perfect curriculum. Are you guilty of ordering a curriculum that you planned on using year after year through all of your kids only to find out it worked for one and not the other? Your not alone. I remember when I first started homeschooling my son, I purchased Abeka. I loved Abeka and still do. He did great in it and so when my middle daughter was school age we jumped right in with Abeka. First it started out ok but then the trouble began. My daughter was struggling with phonics and reading and I started pulling my hair out! Why wasn't this curriculum working ? I though I was failing my daughter because she wasn't  understanding phonics and was really struggling to read. So after lots of prayer I came to the conclusion that Abeka was not for her. What was I going to do? I searched the internet over for a curriculum that would work for her needs. This began my journe…

Homeschool Rhythm- Why you need it!

Hello Friends,
Well, once again I woke up to grumpy kids not wanting to do school. Are you like me, do you struggle with getting your day going especially if you homeschool? Well, that is why a homeschool Daily Rhythm is so important. Not only will you feel more relaxed but so will your kids.
What is a homeschool rhythm? Well, it is how your day starts and ends and everything in between. How it ebbs and flows. Most of us have a rhythm to our days and we may not even know it. But is our rhythm hectic or peaceful? This is what I want to emphasize on today, making a peaceful homeschool rhythm. Many of us have a routine which in a way is a rhythm. We may wake up, eat breakfast, do some chores and start school. But is it peaceful? I know sometimes my mornings are so hectic and the kids are so grumpy it sets the mood for the entire day. This is just stressful, it makes me feel so sad that the day did not go as planned and the atmosphere was gloomy.  So how can we make a better rhythm to ou…
