Merry Christmas

Hello everyone and Merry Christmas!

Well I wish I could say that 2016 has been a great year but we have had our fill of trials. First our family has have physical ailments not just with my husband and I but our parents health also. We have lost a loved one and in the mist of all of this we moved into our little house! But through it all it is God who has kept us and for that I am thankful! With the Christmas season here there are time that we tend to get all caught up in the hustle and bustle of things. This year I am focusing on a simplistic Christmas. I have limited my children to 3 gifts each and of course one from Santa. We try to not be greedy when asking Santa so it is only one gift. I want my children to remember Christmas, not because of the gifts we receive but of the love and joy and family memories they make. There are so many things we can do to make our holiday season less hectic. We can Decorate our Christmas tree with homemade ornaments, and paper chains.
We also can decorate and make a gingerbread house and make a Christmas count down paper chain.
We can watch movies and read books with our family. There is baking cookies and making fudge and making a popcorn string. So many of these things are simple to do and fun for kids. I like to remember Laura Ingalls' Christmas that I saw on one of the Little house episodes where she received a silver cup, a peppermint stick an orange and a shiny new penny from Santa and she was so elated. It was so simple and plain but yet she thought it was the grandest thing in the world. I want my children to be happy with a few gifts instead of many and enjoy the memories with family and friends. I also want them to know that Christmas is about giving rather than receiving. For the true Reason for the Season is Jesus Christ. He came as a humble babe born in a manger ,Died on the cross for our sin so that we could be saved. Jesus is the one true gift and he is here waiting to be received by all who will invite him into there hearts. So I pray this Christmas season that all will open there hearts and ask Jesus in and receive the greatest gift of all SALVATION! I hope you all have a blessed Christmas!
